After three challenging seasons with over 100 losses, the Chicago White Sox are determined to turn things around. With a strong winter of acquisitions and a talented young squad, they're aiming for new heights.
Pitcher Mike Vasil sets the tone, confidently stating, "We're going to be good. We have energy, and we're bonded as friends." This team spirit is a powerful asset, as Vasil explains, "You're not just a work partner; we genuinely care about each other."
But here's where it gets controversial...
The White Sox have bolstered their lineup with Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami and outfielder Austin Hays. Combined with a top-half OPS and top-10 home run performance in the second half of last season, they're looking sharp.
Vasil adds, "Seeing the team improve in the offseason is very exciting."

Last season's second half saw the White Sox post a respectable 28-37 record after the All-Star break, a far cry from their modern-day record of 121 losses just two years ago. General Manager Chris Getz believes the team has momentum, citing last year's second half and offseason acquisitions.
"We feel good," Getz says. "The room is excited, they're hungry."
The team has added veteran righty Eric Fedde to the rotation, joining Davis Martin, Jonathan Cannon, Sean Burke, Shane Smith, and newcomer Anthony Kay. In the outfield, Austin Hays and Luisangel Acuna, acquired from the Mets, will provide stiff competition.
Jonathan Cannon emphasizes, "All that competition is good. It brings out the best in us."
When asked about priorities after a couple of developmental years, Cannon is clear: "Winning is 1000% the focus. We know we can win. We have talent and acquired great players this offseason."
The AL Central division has been competitive, with three teams reaching the postseason in 2024 and both Cleveland and Detroit advancing again in 2025. Can the White Sox join the playoff conversation?

While the team's performance against the Guardians, Orioles, and Yankees was less impressive, the White Sox are optimistic with an improving offense, a stronger bullpen, and the No.1 pick in the amateur draft this summer.
